Making sense of science spending

Science: As Vital As Ever

Last night was the Science is Vital rally, in London and live-streamed to local events and living rooms around the country. A diverse array of speakers from scientists to policy experts and patients made the case for ramping up UK investment in research to a packed auditorium at Conway Hall.

Huge thanks are due to Science is Vital for organising the event, as well as all the speakers, and everyone who attended, in person or virtually.

If you missed it, don’t worry: there’s a recording available online where you can check out the full event. (If you’re after the Scienceogram talk in particular, then look around the seven-minute mark.)

It was also very busy on Twitter, with #scienceisvital trending in the UK throughout the evening. You can catch up with the discussion over on Storify.

There’s still work to be done: we need to keep up the pressure to make sure that the government hears this important message. So, if you haven’t already, please get your postcard in to George Osborne by heading over the scienceisvital.org.uk/postcard, and let the government know why science is vital to you.
